NOTE: The values given below for normal condition are representative values. So, a vehicle may still be normal even if it's value differs from those listed here. So do not solely depend on normal condition here when deciding whether a part is faulty or not.

According to DATA LIST displayed on OBD II scan tool or hand-held tester, you can read value of switch, sensor, actuator and so on without parts removal. Reading DATA LIST as a first step of trouble shooting is one method to shorten labor time.

  1. Warm up engine and turn ignition switch OFF.
  2. Connect OBD II scan tool or hand-held tester to DLC3. See Figure.
  3. Turn ignition switch ON. According to display on tester, read DATA LIST. See Fig 1 and Fig 2 .
