Trouble Shooting

NOTE: Trouble shooting of the luggage compartment door opener system MUST begin with the multiplex communication system. See MULTIPLEX CONTROL SYSTEMS - AVALON article under COMMUNICATION DEVICES in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT. If the multiplex communication system is functioning properly and no diagnostic trouble codes are stored, the body control system must be interrogated next to determine if the luggage compartment door opener system fault is at the body control ECU level or luggage compartment door opener component level. The theft deterrent (anti-theft) system also monitors condition of luggage compartment door lock switch to determine if forced entry into vehicle was made through the luggage compartment (trunk) area.
