Inspection Procedure

NOTE: Start the inspection from step  1 in case of using the TOYOTA hand-held tester and start from step  2 in case of not using the TOYOTA hand-held tester.
  1. Check Operation Of The VSC Buzzer  .

    Preparation  :

    1. Connect the TOYOTA hand-held tester to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch ON and push the TOYOTA hand-held tester main switch ON.
    3. Select the ACTIVE TEST mode on the TOYOTA hand-held tester.

    Check  : Ensure operation of "ON-OFF" function of the VSC buzzer with the TOYOTA hand-held tester.

      NOTE: When replacing the ECU, perform the zero point calibration. See step  6 under PRE-CHECK.
    1. OK  : Check and replace skid control ECU.
    2. NG  : Go to next step.

  2. Check Voltage Between Terminal 2 Of VSC Buzzer And Body Ground. 

    Preparation  : remove the VSC buzzer with connectors still connected.

    Check  :

    1. Turn the ignition switch ON.
    2. Measure voltage between terminal (2) of VSC buzzer and body ground.

    OK  : Voltage: 10-14 V.

    1. NG: Repair or replace harness or connector from voltage supply to VSC buzzer. 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  3. Check VSC Buzzer  .

    Preparation  : disconnect the VSC buzzer connector.

    Check  : apply battery positive voltage to the terminals 1 and 2 of VSC buzzer connector, and check that the VSC buzzer sounds.

    1. NG  : Replace VSC buzzer.
    2. OK  : Go to step  4.
  4. Check For Open And Short Circuit In Harness And Connector Between Skid Control ECU And VSC Buzzer. See  HOW TO USE THE DIAGNOSTIC CHART AND INSPECTION PROCEDURE  .  .
    1. NG  : Repair or replace harness or connector.
    2. NOTE: When replacing the ECU, perform the zero point calibration. See step  6 under PRE-CHECK.
    3. OK  : Check and replace skid control ECU.
