Inspection Procedure

NOTE: In case of using the TOYOTA hand-held tester, start the inspection from step 1 and in case of not using the TOYOTA hand-held tester, start from step 2.

Check theft deterrent indicator using TOYOTA hand-held tester.
Preparation : Connect the TOYOTA hand-held tester to the DLC 3

Check : that theft deterrent indicator can light in an ACTIVE TEST.
1. OK : Proceed to next circuit inspection shown in problem symptoms. See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS .
2. NG : Go to step 2.
Check theft deterrent indicator . See THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM .
1. NG : Replace the theft deterrent indicator.
2. OK : Go to step 3.
Check wire harness and connector between theft deterrent indicator and Body ECU, theft deterrent indicator and body ground . See HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT ECU CONTROLLED SYSTEMS .
1. NG : Repair or replace wire harness or connector.
2. OK : Proceed to next circuit inspection shown in problem symptoms. See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS .
