Compressor And Magnetic Clutch: Installation

  1. Install compressor  :
    1. Install the compressor with 4 bolts.

      Torque: 25 N.m (250 kgf.cm, 18 ft.lbf)  .

    2. Connect the connector.
  2. Connect discharge and suction hoses from compressor:
    1. Lubricate 2 new "O" rings with compressor oil and install them to the both hoses.
      2. CAUTION: Hoses should be connected immediately after the caps have been removed.
    2. Connect the both hoses and install the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 10 N.m (100 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf)  .

    Lubricate 2 new "O" ring with compressor oil and install them to the tube.

  3. Install engine under cover RH  . See Figure.
  4. Install and check drive belt  . See DRIVE BELT INSTALLATION  and ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION OF DRIVE BELT .
  5. Connect negative (-) terminal cable to battery  .
  6. Evacuate air from refrigeration system and charge with refrigerant  .

    Specified amount: 500 7 plus or minus; 50 g (17.64 7 plus or minus; 1.76 oz.) 

  7. Using a gas leak detector, check for leakage of refrigerant. 

    If there is leakage, check the tightening torque at the joints.

  8. Inspect A/C operation  .
