Section 41 (Manual A/C-Heater Systems): Condenser: Removal

  1. Discharge refrigerant from refrigeration system.
    NOTE: At the time of installation, please refer to the following item:
    Evacuate air from refrigeration system.

    Charge system with refrigerant and inspect for leakage of refrigerant.

    Specified amount: 600 +/- 50 g (21.16 +/- 1.76 oz.)

  2. 2UZ-FE engine: Remove A/T oil cooler.

  3. Remove horn.
  4. Remove hood lock.
  5. Remove center brace.
  6. Remove receiver and holder. See REMOVAL .
  7. Disconnect liquid tube and discharge hose.

    Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the both tube and hose.

    Torque: 10 N.m (100 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf)

    CAUTION: Cap open the fittings immediately to keep moisture or dirt out of the system.
    NOTE: At the time of installation, please refer to the following item:
    Lubricate 2 new O-rings with compressor oil and install them to the tubes.
  8. Remove condenser.
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 lower brackets.

    2. Remove the 4 bolts and 2 upper brackets.
    3. Pull the condenser forward and pull it upward.
    NOTE: At the time of installation, please refer to the following item:
    If condenser is replaced, add compressor oil to the compressor.
    1. Add 40 - 50 cc (1.4 -1.7 fl.oz.)
    2. Compressor oil: ND-OIL 8 or equivalent
