Heater Control Assembly: Inspection
- INSPECT ILLUMINATION OPERATION
- Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 4 and negative (-) lead to terminal 6 then check that the illuminations lights up.
- Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1 and negative (-) lead to terminal 8 then check that the passenger side seat belt illuminations lights up.
If operation is not as specified, check the faulty bulb.
- INSPECT BULB
Using an ohmmeter, apply the tester as shown in the illustration to the test for continuity.
If continuity exists, replace the heater control.
If no continuity exists, replace the bulb.
- INSPECT A/C SWITCH INDICATOR OPERATION
- Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1 and negative (-) lead to terminal 13.
- Push the A/C button in and then check that the A/C indicator lights up.
If operation is not as specified, replace the A/C switch.
- INSPECT A/C SWITCH INDICATOR DIMMING OPERATION
- Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1 and negative (-) lead to terminal 13 while pressing the switch.
- Connect the positive (+) lead from battery to terminal 4 and then check that the A/C indicator dims.
If operation is not as specified, replace the A/C switch.
