Instrument Panel: Disassembly

  1. REMOVE No. 2 SIDE DEFROSTER NOZZLE DUCT 
  2. REMOVE NO.1 SIDE DEFROSTER NOZZLE DUCT 
  3. REMOVE No. 2 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT 
  4. REMOVE NO.1 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT 
  5. REMOVE NO.3 REGISTER 
  6. REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 44 ft.lbf) 

      NOTE: At the time of reassembly, please refer to the following item.

      If the front passenger airbag assembly has been dropped, or there are cracks, dents or other defects in the case or connector, replace the front passenger airbag assembly with a new one.

    2. Pry off the 5 clips and remove the front passenger airbag assembly as shown in the illustration.
      CAUTION:
      • Do not store the front passenger airbag assembly with the airbag deployment side facing downward.
      • Never disassemble the front passenger airbag assembly.

    3. Remove the No. 1 and No. 2 safety pad retainer with the 2 bolts.
  7. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE 
  8. w/ Automatic light control system: REMOVE AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SENSOR 
  9. Auto A/C models: REMOVE ROOM TEMPERATURE SENSOR 
  10. REMOVE LIGHT CONTROL SWITCH HOLE COVER
