Power Door Lock Control System: Inspection

  1. INSPECT DRIVER'S DOOR LOCK CONTROL SWITCH CONTINUITY

    DRIVER'S DOOR LOCK CONTROL SWITCH CONTINUITY REFERENCE

    Switch Position Tester Connection Specified Condition
    LOCK 1 - 10 Continuity
    OFF   No Continuity
    UNLOCK 1 - 18 Continuity

    If continuity is not as specified, replace the switch.

  2. INSPECT PASSENGER'S DOOR LOCK CONTROL SWITCH CONTINUITY

    PASSENGER'S DOOR LOCK CONTROL SWITCH CONTINUITY

    Switch Position Tester Connection Specified Condition
    LOCK 3 - 6 Continuity
    OFF   No Continuity
    UNLOCK 3 - 5 Continuity

    If continuity is not as specified, replace the switch.

  3. INSPECT FRONT DOOR KEY LOCK AND UNLOCK SWITCH CONTINUITY

    Switch Position Tester Connection Specified Condition
    LOCK 2- 1 Continuity
    OFF   No Continuity
    UNLOCK 3 - 1 Continuity

    If continuity is not as specified, replace the switch.

  4. INSPECT BACK DOOR KEY LOCK AND UNLOCK SWITCH CONTINUITY

    LOCK 2- 1 Continuity
    OFF   No Continuity
    UNLOCK 3- 1 Continuity

    If continuity is not as specified, replace the switch.

  5. INSPECT FRONT DOOR UNLOCK DETECTION SWITCH CONTINUITY

    If continuity is not as specified, replace the switch.

  6. w/ Theft Deterrent System: INSPECT BACK DOOR UNLOCK DETECTION SWITCH CONTINUITY

    If continuity is not as specified, replace the switch.

  7. INSPECT FRONT DOOR LOCK MOTOR OPERATION 
    1. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 3 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 2, and check that the door lock link moves to UNLOCK position.

    2. Reverse the polarity and check that the door lock link moves to LOCK position.

      If operation is not as specified, replace the door lock assembly.

  8. w/ Theft Deterrent System and LH Side Door: INSPECT SLIDING DOOR LOCK MOTOR OPERATION

    1. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 2, and check that the door lock link moves to UNLOCK position.
    2. Reverse the polarity and check that the door lock link moves to LOCK position.

      If operation is not as specified, replace the door lock assembly.

  9. w/o Theft Deterrent System and RH Side Door: INSPECT SLIDING DOOR LOCK MOTOR OPERATION

    1. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 2, and check that the door lock link moves to UNLOCK position.
    2. Reverse the polarity and check that the door lock link moves to LOCK position.

      If operation is not as specified, replace the door lock assembly.

  10. w/o Theft Deterrent System: INSPECT BACK DOOR LOCK MOTOR OPERATION 
    1. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 2, and check that the door lock link moves to UNLOCK position.

    2. Reverse the polarity and check that the door lock link moves to LOCK position.

      If operation is not as specified, replace the door lock assembly.

  11. w/ Theft Deterrent System: INSPECT BACK DOOR LOCK MOTOR OPERATION 
    1. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 2, and check that the door lock link moves to UNLOCK position.

    2. Reverse the polarity and check that the door lock link moves to LOCK position.

      If operation is not as specified, replace the door lock assembly.

  12. INSPECT INTEGRATION RELAY OPERATION

    NOTE: When the relay circuit is as specified, inspect the door lock signal.
    1. Connect the positive (+) lead from the voltmeter to terminal 1 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 9.
    2. Set the door lock control switch to UNLOCK and check that the voltage rises from 0 V to battery positive voltage for approximately 0.2 seconds.
    3. Reverse the polarity of the voltmeter leads.

    5. Set the door lock control switch to LOCK and check that the voltage rises from 0 V to battery positive voltage for approximately 0.2 seconds.

      If operation is not as specified, replace the relay.
