Disposal Procedures: Notes

WARNING:
Air bag modules and seat belt pretensioners contain harmful substances. Illness or injury is possible if improperly handled. Wear gloves and safety glasses when handling these components. Seal deployed component in sturdy plastic bag and dispose of as any other part.
NOTE:
Disposing of undeployed air bag module or seat belt pretensioner may violate federal, state and/or local laws. If scrapping vehicle, undeployed components must be deployed while installed in vehicle. See ON-VEHICLE DEPLOYMENT (SCRAPPED VEHICLES ONLY) .
If not scrapping vehicle, use OFF-VEHICLE DEPLOYMENT .
If not scrapping vehicle, use OFF-VEHICLE DEPLOYMENT .
