Inspection Procedure

  1. INPUT SIGNAL CHECK 
    1. See "input signal check" on PRE-CHECK .
    2. Check the indicator light operation when the clutch pedal is depressed.

      OK: 

      The indicator light goes off when depressing the clutch pedal.

    1. OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (See  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  ) 
    2. NG: Go to Next Step 
  2. INSPECT CLUTCH SWITCH ASSY 
    1. Disconnect the clutch switch connector.
    2. Check that the continuity exists when the clutch switch assy is operated.

      OK: 

      SWITCH POSITION SPECIFICATION

      Switch position Specified condition
      Switch pin free No continuity
      Switch pin pushed in Continuity

    1. NG: REPLACE CLUTCH SWITCH ASSY 
    2. OK: Go to Next Step 
  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    1. Check for open and short circuit in the harness and the connector between terminal D of ECM and the clutch switch (See ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE ).
    2. Check for open and short circuit in the harness and the connector between the clutch switch and the battery (See ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE ).
    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: CHECK AND REPLACE ECM (See  ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE  )
