Fuel Injector Assembly: Replacement

WORK FOR PREVENTING GASOLINE FROM SPILLING OUT (See PRECAUTION )
REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE (See REPLACEMENT )
REMOVE ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSY NO. 1 (See REPLACEMENT )
DISCONNECT FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSY (See PRECAUTION )
REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE W/INJECTOR
NOTE: Be careful not to drop the injectors when removing the delivery pipe.
1. Remove the ventilation hose No. 2.
2. Disconnect the 4 injector connectors from the injector.
3. Remove the 2 clamps and wire harnesses from the delivery pipe.
4. Remove the 2 bolts and the delivery pipe together with the 4 injectors.
5. Remove the 2 spacers from the cylinder head.

REMOVE FUEL INJECTOR ASSY
1. Pull out the 4 injectors from the delivery pipe.
INSTALL FUEL INJECTOR ASSY
1. Install a new insulator to each injector.
2. Apply a light coat of grease or gasoline to a new O-ring and install to each injector.

3. Apply a light coat of grease or gasoline on the place where a delivery pipe touches the O-ring.
4. To install the fuel injector into the fuel delivery pipe, push the fuel injector while twisting it back and forth.
5. Install the 4 injectors.
  NOTE:
  - Be careful not to twist the O-ring.
  - After installing the fuel injector, check that it turns smoothly. If not, reinstall it with a new O-ring.
6. Position the injector connector downward.

INSTALL FUEL DELIVERY PIPE W/INJECTOR
1. Place the 2 spacers in position on the cylinder head.
2. Place the delivery pipe together with the 4 injectors in position on the cylinder head.

3. Temporarily install the 2 bolts holding the delivery pipe to the cylinder.

  NOTE: After installing the fuel injector, check that it turns smoothly. If not, reinstall it with a new O-ring.
4. Position the injector connector outward.
5. Tighten the 2 bolts holding the delivery pipe to the cylinder head.
  Torque: 20 N.m (204 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf)
CONNECT FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSY (See PRECAUTION )
INSPECT FOR FUEL LEAKS (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION )
INSTALL ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSY NO. 1 (See REPLACEMENT )
INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE (See REPLACEMENT )
