Inspection Procedure

NOTE: Start the inspection from step 1 in case of using the TOYOTA hand-held tester and start from step 2 in case of not using the TOYOTA hand-held tester.
  1. Check Operation Of The SLIP Indicator Light  .

    PREPARATION:

    1. Connect the TOYOTA hand-held tester to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch ON and push the TOYOTA hand-held tester main switch ON.
    3. Select the ACTIVE TEST mode on the TOYOTA hand-held tester.

      Check  : That "ON" and "OFF" of the SLIP indicator light can be shown on the combination meter with the TOYOTA hand-held tester.

    1. NG  : Go to step  4.
    2. OK  : Go to step  2.
  2. Check That The SLIP Indicator Light Is ON For 3 Seconds Immediately After Ignition Switch Is Turned ON  .
    1. OK  : No problem.
    2. NG  : Go to step  3.
  3. Check SLIP indicator light.

    1. NG  : Repair or replace combination meter.
    2. OK  : Go to step  4.

  4. Check For Open And Short Circuit In Harness And Connector Between Skid Control ECU And SLIP Indicator Light. See  HOW TO USE THE DIAGNOSTIC CHART AND INSPECTION PROCEDURE  . 
    1. NG  : Repair or replace harness or connector.
    2. NOTE: When replacing the ECU, perform the zero point calibration. See step  6 under PRE-CHECK.
    3. OK  : Check and replace skid control ECU.
