VSV For Evaporative Emission (EVAP): Inspection

  1. REMOVE VSV 
  2. INSPECT VSV 
    1. Inspect the VSV for open circuit.

      Using an ohmmeter, check that there is continuity between the terminals.

      Resistance: 30 to 34 Ω at 20°C (68°F)

      If there is no continuity, replace the VSV.

    2. Inspect the VSV for ground.

      Using an ohmmeter, check that there is no continuity between each terminal and the VSV body.

      If there is continuity, replace the VSV.

    3. Inspect the VSV operation.
      1. Check that air flows with a little difficulty from ports E to F.

      2. Apply battery positive voltage to the terminals.
      3. Check that air flows from ports E to F.

        If the operation is not as specified, replace the VSV.

  3. REINSTALL VSV
