Body Outside Moulding: Installation

  1. W/Overfender: INSTALL QUARTER OUTSIDE MOLDING 
    1. Clean the body mounting surface.
      1. Using a heat light, heat the body mounting surface to 40 - 60°C (104 - 140°F).
      2. Remove the adhesive tape from the body.
      3. Wipe off stains with cleaner.
    2. Install the quarter outside molding.
      1. Install the 2 screws and rear quarter outer panel extension.
      2. Using a heat light, heat the body and molding.

        Body: 40 - 60°C (104 - 140°F) 

        Molding: 20 - 30°C (68 - 86°F) 

        NOTE: Do not heat the molding excessively.

      4. Lift the molding release sheet from the face of the molding.
        NOTE: When the molding release sheet is removed, make sure that no dirt or dust can get onto the uncoated area.
      5. Align the bosses with their corresponding holes in the body and press firmly on the molding.
        NOTE: Do not apply excessive force onto the molding, but steady pressure with your thumbs.
      6. Using a riveter, install the molding with the rivet.

        HINT:

        Install them with the rivet firmly pressed perpendicularly against the installation hole.

      7. Install the 2 screws.
  2. W/Overfender: INSTALL NO. 1 REAR WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION 
    1. Install the quarter opening retainer with the 4 screws.
    2. Clean the body mounting surface.
      1. Using a heat light, heat the body mounting surface to 40 - 60°C (104 - 140°F).
      2. Remove the adhesive tape from the body.
      3. Wipe off stains with cleaner.

    4. Install the No. 1 rear wheel opening extension.
      1. Using a heat light, heat the body and molding.

        Body: 40 - 60°C (104 - 140°F) 

        Molding: 20 - 30°C (68 - 86°F) 

        NOTE: Do not heat the molding excessively.
      2. Lift the molding release sheet from the face of the molding.
        NOTE: When the molding release sheet is removed, make sure that no dirt or dust can get onto the uncoated area.
      3. Align the bosses with their corresponding holes in the body, and press firmly on the molding.
        NOTE: Do not apply excessive force onto the molding, but steady pressure with your thumbs.
      4. Using a riveter, install the molding with the rivet.

      HINT:

      Install them with the rivet firmly pressed perpendicularly against the installation hole.

  3. INSTALL REAR DOOR OUTSIDE MOLDING 
    1. Clean the body mounting surface.
      1. Using a heat light, heat the body mounting surface to 40 - 60°C (104 - 140°F).
      2. Remove the adhesive tape from the body.
      3. Wipe off stains with cleaner.
    2. Install the rear door outside molding.
      1. Using a heat light, heat the body and molding.

        Body: 40 - 60°C (104 - 140°F) 

        Molding: 20 - 30°C (68 - 86°F) 

        NOTE: Do not heat the molding excessively.
      2. Lift the molding release sheet from the face of the molding.
        NOTE: When the molding release sheet is removed, make sure that no dirt or dust can get onto the uncoated area.
      3. Align the bosses with their corresponding holes in the body, and press firmly on the molding.

  4. INSTALL FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE MOLDING 
    1. Clean the body mounting surface.
      1. Using a heat light, heat the body mounting surface to 40 - 60°C (104 - 140°F).
      2. Remove the adhesive tape from the body.
      3. Wipe off stains with cleaner.
    2. Install the front door outside molding.
      1. Using a heat light, heat the body and molding.

        Body: 40 - 60°C (104 - 140°F) 

        Molding: 20 - 30°C (68 - 86°F) 

        NOTE: Do not heat the molding excessively.
      2. Lift the molding release sheet from the face of the molding.

  5. W/Overfender: INSTALL FRONT FENDER OUTSIDE MOLDING 
    1. Clean the body mounting surface.
      1. Using a heat light, heat the body mounting surface to 40 - 60°C (104 - 140°F).
      2. Remove the adhesive tape from the body.
      3. Wipe off stains with cleaner.
    2. Install the front fender molding.
      1. Install the front quarter outer panel extension with the 2 screws.
      2. Using a heat light, heat the body and molding.

        Body: 40 - 60°C (104 - 140°F) 

        Molding: 20 - 30°C (68 - 86°F) 

        NOTE: Do not heat the molding excessively.
      3. Lift the molding release sheet from the face of the molding.
        NOTE: When the molding release sheet is removed, make sure that no dirt or dust can get onto the uncoated area.

      6. Install the 3 screws.

  6. W/Overfender: INSTALL FRONT BUMPER EXTENSION 

    Install the front bumper extension with the 3 nuts.
