Section 514 (Back-Up Light System): Inspection

  1. M/T: 

    INSPECT BACK-UP LIGHT SWITCH CONTINUITY 

    CONTINUITY CHECK

    Condition Tester Connection Specified Condition
    Not pushed 1 - 2 No continuity
    Pushed 1 - 2 Continuity

    If the continuity is not as specified, replace the switch.

  2. A/T: 

    INSPECT PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH CONTINUITY (See  DTC P0705: TRANSMISSION RANGE SENSOR CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION (PRNDL INPUT)  or  DTC P0705: TRANSMISSION RANGE SENSOR CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION (PRNDL INPUT)  ) 

  3. A/T: 

    INSPECT BACK-UP LIGHT RELAY CONTINUITY 

    CONTINUITY CHECK

    Tester Connection Specified Condition
    3 - 5 No Continuity
    3 - 5 Continuity (When battery voltage is applied to terminals 1 and 2)

    If the continuity is not as specified, replace the relay.
