Inspection Procedure

HINT:

Start the inspection from step 1 when using the hand-held tester and start from step  2 when not using the hand-held tester.

  1. READ VALUE ON HAND-HELD TESTER (IGNITION SWITCH) 
    1. Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch on (IG) and turn the hand-held tester main switch on.
    3. Select the items below in the "DATA LIST" and read the display on the hand-held tester.

      BODY:

      OK: 

      When the ignition switch is operated, the display changes as shown above. 

    1. NG: Go to step 2 
    2. OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (SEE  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE   ) 
  2. INSPECT MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU (IG AND ACC TERMINALS) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Disconnect the instrument panel J/B (II) connector.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value (s) in MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU (IG AND ACC TERMINALS)  .

      Standard: 

      MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU (IG AND ACC TERMINALS)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      II-9 (IG) - Body ground Ignition switch off Below 1 V
      II-9 (IG) - Body ground Ignition switch on (IG) 10 to 14 V
      II-3 (ACC) - Body ground Ignition switch off Below 1 V
      II-3 (ACC) - Body ground Ignition switch on (ACC) 10 to 14 V

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (IG OR ACC CIRCUIT) 
    2. OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (SEE  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE   )
