Shift Lock System: Inspection

  1. INSPECT SHIFT LOCK ECU 
    1. Remove the shift lock ECU (See DISASSEMBLY  ).
    2. Using an ohmmeter, check the resistance between the terminals 2 and 4.

      Standard: Below 1Ω 

    If the result is not as specified, replace the shift lock ECU.

  2. INSPECT SHIFT LOCK SOLENOID 
    1. Remove the shift lock solenoid (See DISASSEMBLY  ).
    2. Inspect the shift lock solenoid operation.
      1. Using an ohmmeter, check the resistance between the terminals.

        Standard: Below 1Ω 

        If the result is not as specified, replace the shift lock solenoid.

      2. Check the solenoid operating sound when connecting the battery voltage across the terminals.

      If the solenoid does not operate, replace the shift lock solenoid.
