Lighting System: Inspection

  1. HEADLAMP DIMMER SWITCH ASSY 
    1. Inspect light control switch continuity.
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
      RESISTANCE CONDITION (1 OF 19)

    2. Inspect headlight dimmer switch continuity.
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
      RESISTANCE CONDITION (2 OF 19)

      Tester connection Switch operation Specified resistance
      8-11 FLASH Below 1 Ω
      9-11
      8-11 LOW BEAM Below 1 Ω
      9-11 HI BEAM Below 1 Ω

      HINT:

      Turn light control switch to the HEAD position when checking "LOW BEAM" and "HI BEAM".

    3. Inspect turn signal switch continuity.
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
      RESISTANCE CONDITION (3 OF 19)

      6-7 Right turn Below 1 Ω
      5-6 Neutral 10 kΩ or higher

    4. W/Fog light:

      Inspect front fog light switch continuity.

  3. STOP LAMP SWITCH ASSY (W/O CRUISE CONTROL)

  5. HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH ASSY 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
      RESISTANCE CONDITION (8 OF 19)

      Tester connection Switch operation Specified resistance
      1-4 ON Below 1 Ω
      1-4 OFF 10 kΩ or higher
    2. Inspect illumination operation.
      1. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 8 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 9, then check that the illumination comes on.

  6. FRONT DOOR COURTESY LAMP SWITCH ASSY 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    1. Inspect the back door courtesy lamp switch.
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

  10. BACK WINDOW LOCK ASSY 
    1. Inspect the glass hatch courtesy switch.
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

  11. MAP LAMP ASSY 
    1. Inspect the map lamp assy.
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
        RESISTANCE CONDITION (14 OF 19)

        Tester connection Switch operation Specified resistance
        1-3 OFF 10 kΩ or higher
      2. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 3, then check that the illumination comes on when switch operation is ON position.

  12. MAP LAMP ASSY (ELECTRO CHROMIC MIRROR INNER MIRROR) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
      RESISTANCE CONDITION (15 OF 19)

      Tester connection Switch operation Specified resistance
      1-6 OFF 10 kΩ or higher
    2. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 6, then check that the illumination comes on when switch operation is ON position.

  13. ROOM LAMP ASSY NO.1 
    1. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 2, then check that the illumination comes on.

  14. ROOM LAMP ASSY NO.2 
    1. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 2, then check that the illumination comes on.

  15. HEADLAMP RELAY 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

  19. LIGHT CONTROL RHEOSTAT 
    1. Connect the connector to the rheostat and inspect the wire harness side connector from the back side as shown in the table below.
      VOLTAGE CONDITION

      Tester connection Switch operation Specified condition
      7-8 OFF 10 to 14 V
      7-8 ON Below 1 V
      1-8 ON (When any door is open) 10 to 14 V
      1-8 Except OFF and ON (When any door is open) Below 1 V

    2. Inspect illumination operation.
      1. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 2 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 7, then check that the illumination comes on.
