Inspection Procedure
- CHECK IGNITION OR STARTER SWITCH ASSY

- Measure the resistance of the ignition switch.TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART (1 OF 3)
Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition - LOCK - 1 - 3 ACC Below 1 Ω 1 - 2 - 3 ON Below 1 Ω 5 - 6 ON Below 1 Ω 1 - 2 START Below 1 Ω 4 - 5 - 6 START Below 1 Ω - NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE IGNITION OR STARTER SWITCH ASSY
OK: Go to next step
- Measure the resistance of the ignition switch.
- CHECK FUSE (ECU-IG)
- Remove the fuse from the instrument panel J/B.
- Measure the resistance of the fuse.
Standard: Below 1 Ω
- NG: REPLACE FUSE
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK RELAY (Marking: IG1)
- Remove the IG relay from the instrument J/B.
- Measure the resistance of the relay.TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART (2 OF 3)
Tester Connection Specified Condition 3-5 10 kΩ or higher 3-5 Below 1 Ω (when battery voltage is applied to terminals 1 and 2) - NG: REPLACE RELAY
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (TVIP ECU - BODY GROUND)
- Disconnect the T3 TVIP ECU connector.
- Turn the ignition switch ON.
- Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connector.TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART (3 OF 3)
Tester Connection Specified Condition IG(T3-10)- Body ground 10 to 14V
- NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE WIRE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK: Go to next step
CHECK AND REPLACE TVIP ECU (See ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE )
