Inspection Procedure

  1. INSPECT ECM 
    1. Disconnect the connector from the ECM.
    2. Turn the ignition switch on.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in ECM  .

      Voltage 

      ECM

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E5-10 - Body ground Clutch pedal depressed Below 1 V
      E5-10 - Body ground Clutch pedal released 10 to 14 V

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  

    NG: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  2. INSPECT CLUTCH SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the clutch switch connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in CLUTCH SWITCH ASSEMBLY  .

      Resistance 

      CLUTCH SWITCH ASSEMBLY

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 Switch pin free (Clutch pedal depressed) 10 kΩ or higher
      1 - 2 Switch pin pushed in (Clutch pedal released) Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPLACE CLUTCH SWITCH ASSEMBLY 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in HARNESS AND CONNECTOR  .

      Resistance 

      HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C15-2 - E5-10 Always Below 1 Ω
      E5-10 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY - CLUTCH SWITCH ASSEMBLY)
