Inspection Procedure

- INSPECT CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH
- Disconnect the cruise control main switch connector.
- Measure resistance between terminal 1 and 3 of the cruise control switch connector when cruise control main switch is operated.
Resistance
CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH (1 OF 2)Switch condition Resistance (Ω) Neutral infinity (No continuity) +/RES 210 to 270 -/SET 560 to 700 CANCEL 1,380 to 1,700 - Check continuity between terminals 1 and 3 of cruise control main switch connector when main switch button is held on and off.

NG: REPLACE CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH
OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
- INSPECT STEERING PAD SWITCH LH
- Check for open and short circuit in harness and connector between cruise control main switch side terminal 1 and ECM side terminal 4 (See HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT ECU CONTROLLED SYSTEMS ).
- Check for open and short circuit in harness and connector between cruise control main switch side terminal 3 and ECM side terminal 5 (See HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT ECU CONTROLLED SYSTEMS ).
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE STEERING PAD SWITCH LH
OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
- INSPECT ECM
- Remove the ECM with connector.
- Ignition switch ON.
- Measure voltage between terminal CCS of ECM and body ground, when cruise control main switch is operated.
Voltage
ECMSwitch position Voltage Neutral 10 to 14 V CANCEL 6.6 to 10.1 V -/SET 4.5 to 7.1 V +/RES 2.3 to 4 V Main switch ON Below 1 V
NG: REPLACE ECM
OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
