WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Toyota Sienna. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. INSPECT CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH
    1. Disconnect the cruise control main switch connector.
    2. Measure resistance between terminal 1 and 3 of the cruise control switch connector when cruise control main switch is operated.

      Resistance

CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH (1 OF 2)

      Switch condition Resistance (Ω)
      Neutral infinity (No continuity)
      +/RES 210 to 270
      -/SET 560 to 700
      CANCEL 1,380 to 1,700
    3. Check continuity between terminals 1 and 3 of cruise control main switch connector when main switch button is held on and off.

      Resistance

CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH (2 OF 2)

      Switch condition Tester Connection Specification
      OFF 1 - 3 No continuity
      ON 1 - 3 Continuity

NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE STEERING PAD SWITCH LH

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP

  3. INSPECT ECM
    1. Remove the ECM with connector.
    2. Ignition switch ON.
    3. Measure voltage between terminal CCS of ECM and body ground, when cruise control main switch is operated.

      Voltage

      ECM

      Switch position Voltage
      Neutral 10 to 14 V
      CANCEL 6.6 to 10.1 V
      -/SET 4.5 to 7.1 V
      +/RES 2.3 to 4 V
Main switch ON Below 1 V
