Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NAVIGATION ECU - FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER) 
    1. Disconnect the navigation ECU connector L16 and front No. 2 speaker connector D1.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      NAVIGATION ECU - FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER

      Taster connection Condition Specified condition
      TWL+ - AUO+ Always Below 1 Ω
      TWL- - AUO- Always Below 1 Ω
      AUO+ - Body ground Always 10 Ω or higher
      AUO- - Body ground Always 10 Ω or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to Next Step 

  2. INSPECT FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER 
    1. Check that the malfunction disappears when another speaker in good condition is installed.

      OK: 

      Malfunction disappears. 

      HINT:

      • Connect all the connectors to the speakers.
      • When there is a possibility that either the right or left front speaker is defective, inspect by interchanging the right one with the left one.

    OK: REPLACE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER 

    NG: Go to Next Step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER - FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER) 
    1. Disconnect the front No. 1 speaker connector H3.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER - FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER

      Tester connection Condition Specified condition
      D1-4 - H3-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      D1-1 - H3-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      D1-4 - Body ground Always 10 Ω or higher
      D1-1 - Body ground Always 10 Ω or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to Next Step 

  4. INSPECT FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER 
    1. Resistance check
      1. Measure the resistance between the terminals of the speaker.

        Standard resistance: 

        1.8 to 2.6 Ω 

    NG: REPLACE FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
