Vacuum Switching Valve, Intake Manifold: Inspection
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Toyota Land Cruiser. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- INSPECT INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY (for ACIS)
- With 39.9 kPa (300 mmHg, 11.8 in.Hg) of vacuum applied to the actuator, check that the actuator rod moves.
- One minute after applying the vacuum in the step above, check that the actuator rod does not return.
If the operation is not as specified, replace the intake manifold.
- INSPECT VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY
- Measure the resistance of the VSV.
Standard resistance
VACUUM SWITCHING VALVETester Connection Specified Condition 1 - 2 26 to 30 Ω at 20°C (68°F) 1 - Body Ground
2 - Body Ground10 MΩ or higher If the result is not as specified, replace the VSV assembly.
- Check the operation of the VSV.
- Check that air does not flow from port E to port F.
- Apply battery voltage across terminals 1 and 2.
- Check that air flows from port E to port F.
If the result is not as specified, replace the VSV assembly.
- Measure the resistance of the VSV.
