Section 8 (Engine Cooling System): Fan: Installation

- INSTALL FAN
- Install the fan to the fluid coupling with the 4 nuts.
Torque: 8.5 N*m (87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf)
- Install the fan to the fluid coupling with the 4 nuts.
- INSTALL FAN WITH FLUID COUPLING
- Place the fan with fluid coupling, fan pulley and fan shroud in position.
- Temporarily install the fan pulley mounting nuts.
- Install the fan shroud with the 3 bolts.
Torque: 5.0 N*m (51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf)
- Connect the 2 oil cooler hoses to the clamp on the fan shroud.
- Install the drive belt (see INSTALLATION ).
- Tighten the 4 fan pulley mounting nuts.
Torque: 29 N*m (296 kgf*cm, 21 ft.*lbf)
- Install the 2 wire harness brackets to the radiator wire with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 5.0 N*m (51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf)
- Install the 2 clamps on the A/C discharge tube to the 2 wire harness brackets with the 2 nuts.
Torque: 5.0 N*m (51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf)

- INSTALL RADIATOR RESERVOIR ASSEMBLY
- Install the grommet to the reservoir.
- Attach the lower side of the reservoir to the fan shroud.
- Install the reservoir with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 8.0 N*m (82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf)
- Connect the reservoir hose to the radiator.
- Install the clamp on the wire to the radiator.
- INSTALL NO. 1 RADIATOR HOSE (See INSTALLATION )
- ADD ENGINE COOLANT (See COOLANT )
- ADD AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID
- Add automatic transmission fluid (see AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID ).
- CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
- PERFORM INITIALIZATION
- Perform initialization (see INITIALIZATION
).NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
- Perform initialization (see INITIALIZATION
).
- CHECK FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAKS
- Check for engine coolant leaks (see COOLING SYSTEM ).
- CHECK FOR OIL LEAKS
- Check for engine oil leaks (see ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION ).
- INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER (See INSTALLATION )
