Inspection Procedure

  1. INSPECT PATTERN SELECT SWITCH (PWR mode switch) 
    1. Disconnect the E4 pattern select switch connector.
    2. Measure the resistance of the switch.

    Standard resistance 

    RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

    Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
    5-3 Pattern select switch (PWR) Below 1 Ω
    5-3 Pattern select switch (NORM) 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPLACE PATTERN SELECT SWITCH

    OK: GO TO Next Step 

  2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (PATTERN SELECT SWITCH - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the pattern select switch connector.
    2. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.

    Standard resistance 

    RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

    Tester Connection Specified Condition
    E8-31 (PWR) - Body ground Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
