Back Door Lock: Inspection

  1. INSPECT BACK DOOR W/ MOTOR LOCK ASSEMBLY (BACK DOOR COURTESY SWITCH) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      TERMINAL SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Terminal No. Door Lock Latch Position Specified Condition
      1 - 2 Open or half lock Below 1 Ω
      1 - 2 Closed Below 1 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, replace the door lock assembly.

  2. INSPECT BACK DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Apply battery voltage and inspect the back door lock actuator assembly operation, as shown in the illustration and table.

      Standard voltage 

      MEASURING CONDITION CHART

      Measuring condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) → Terminal 4
      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 3      		 Lock
      Battery positive (+) → Terminal 3
      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 4      		 Unlock

      If the result is not as specified, replace the actuator.
