On-Vehicle Inspection

  1. INSPECT ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR 
    1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
    2. Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the ignition switch ON (IG).
    4. Turn the tester ON.
    5. Enter the following menus:

      Select: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Date List / Accelerator Position No. 1 or Accelerator position No. 2.

    6. Operate the accelerator pedal, then check that the Accelerator position No. 1 and Accelerator position No. 2 values are within the specifications.

      Standard accelerator position No. 1 

      VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION TABLE

      Accelerator Pedal Condition Specified Condition
      Released 0.5 to 1.1 V
      Depressed 2.6 to 4.5 V

      Standard accelerator position No. 2 

      VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION TABLE

      Accelerator Pedal Condition Specified Condition
      Released 1.2 to 2.0 V
      Depressed 3.4 to 5.3 V

      If the Techstream is not available, measure the voltage between the terminals (VPA - EPA, VPA2 - EPA2) of the ECM connector (See DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM  ).
