On-Vehicle Inspection

  1. INSPECT CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Check the operation.
      1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
      2. Turn the ignition switch ON.
      3. Turn the tester ON.
      4. Start the engine and warm it up.
      5. Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Active Test / Control the VVT System (Bank 1).
      6. Operate the OCV using the Techstream, then check the engine speed.

        Standard 

        STANDARD VOLTAGE

        Tester Operation Specified Condition
        OCV OFF Normal engine speed or idling
        OCVON Rough idling or engine stalls

        If the operation is not as specified, check the camshaft timing oil control valve, wire harness and ECM.
