Steering Angle Sensor: Installation

  1. INSTALL STEERING ANGLE SENSOR 
    1. Align the 2 locating pins, engage the 6 claws, and install the steering angle sensor to the spiral cable.

  2. INSTALL SPIRAL CABLE WITH STEERING ANGLE SENSOR  (See INSTALLATION )
  3. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN COVER  (See INSTALLATION )
  4. ADJUST SPIRAL CABLE  (See INSTALLATION )
  5. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  6. INSPECT STEERING WHEEL CENTER POINT 
  7. INSTALL STEERING PAD  (See INSTALLATION )
  8. INSTALL LOWER NO. 3 STEERING WHEEL COVER  (See INSTALLATION )
  9. INSTALL LOWER NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER  (See INSTALLATION )
  10. INSPECT STEERING PAD  (See INSTALLATION )
  11. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: When reconnecting the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal after installing the steering sensor, check that the front tires and steering wheel are aligned straight ahead before and after connecting the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
    NOTE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (See INITIALIZATION ).
  12. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT 
    1. Inspect the SRS warning light (See DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM ).
