Inspection Procedure

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch ON.
    3. Turn the tester on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test / Hazard
    5. Check the hazard warning signal light while operating the hazard function using the tester.

    ACTIVE TEST

    Hazard Turn Signal Flasher Assembly ON / OFF

    OK: The hazard warning signal light is flash when operating it through the Techstream. 

    OK: Go to step  4

    NG: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  2. INSPECT FUSE (GAUGE, HAZ) 
    1. Remove the GAUGE fuse from the main body ECU.
    2. Remove the HAZ fuse from the engine room relay block.
    3. Measure the resistance.

      Standard resistance: Below 1 Ω 

    4. Reinstall the GAUGE and HAZ fuses.

    NG: REPLACE FUSE 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FUSE - MAIN BODY ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the 4B main body ECU connector.
    2. Measure the voltage.

      Standard voltage 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      4B-32 (+B) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
    3. Reconnect the main body ECU connector.

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU 

  4. INSPECT HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH 
    1. Hatchback:
      1. Remove the hazard warning signal switch.
      2. Measure the resistance.

        Standard resistance 

        TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        1-4 OFF 10 kΩ or higher
        1-4 ON Below 1 Ω
      3. Install the hazard warning signal switch.

    2. Sedan:
      1. Remove the hazard warning signal switch.
      2. Measure the resistance.

        Standard resistance 

        TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        15(TB)-4(E) OFF 10 kΩ or higher
        15(TB)-4(E) ON Below 1 Ω
      3. Install the hazard warning signal switch.

    NG: REPLACE HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH - MAIN BODY ECU) 
    1. Hatchback:
      1. Disconnect the D7 hazard warning signal switch connector.
      2. Disconnect the 4S main body ECU connector.
      3. Measure the resistance.

        Standard resistance 

        TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

        Tester Connection Specified Condition
        D7-4-4S-17(EHW) Below 1 Ω
        D7-4 or 4S-17 (EHW) Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
      4. Reconnect the hazard warning signal switch connector.
      5. Reconnect the main body ECU connector.

    2. Sedan:
      1. Disconnect the D77 hazard warning signal switch connector.
      2. Disconnect the 4S main body ECU connector.
      3. Measure the resistance.

        Standard resistance 

        TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

        Tester Connection Specified Condition
        D77-15(TB)-4S-17(EHW) Below 1 Ω
        D77-15 (TB) or 4S-17 (EHW) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
      4. Reconnect the hazard warning signal switch connector.
      5. Reconnect the main body ECU connector.

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH - BODY GROUND)
