System Outline

The door lock control is controlled according to the various signals received by the body ECU through communication control.

  1. Manual Unlock Operation

    When the door lock control SW on the driver or passenger side door is pushed to UNLOCK, the door will unlock.

  2. Manual Lock Operation

    When the door lock control SW on the driver or passenger side door is pushed to LOCK, the door will lock.

  3. Door Key Unlock Operation

    * Unlock operation from driver's side door

    If the driver side door is unlocked once using the ignition key, only the driver side door will be unlocked. But if this operation is repeated within 3 seconds, the remaining doors will be unlocked.

  4. Ignition Key Reminder Operation

    If a door lock operation is performed using the door knob while the ignition key is still in the key cylinder and the door is open, and unlock operation will automatically be performed. Additionally, if a lock operation is made using the door lock control SW or door key lock and unlock SW, an unlock operation will automatically be performed after the lock operation has been completed.

  5. Shift-Lever-Interlocked Auto Lock Control

    * Auto lock operation

    The auto lock control will automatically lock all the doors if the doors are all closed, the ignition switch is ON, the engine is running, and the shift lever is put into any position other than park.

    * Auto unlocking operation

    The auto lock control will automatically unlock all the doors if the shift lever is put into park while the ignition switch is ON and the vehicle is not traveling at a speed exceeding 16 km/h.

  6. Vehicle-Speed-Interlocked Auto Lock Control

    * Auto lock operation control

    * If any of the doors is not locked, the ignition switch is ON and the engine is running, the auto lock control will automatically lock all the doors when the vehicle speed reaches or exceeds 20 km/h.

    * Unlocking prevention feature

    Whenever the vehicle is traveling at a speed of 20 km/h or more, the unlock function will be disabled.

    * Auto lock repeat prevention feature

    Once the auto lock is activated, the auto lock operation cannot be repeated until a door is opened or the ignition switch is turned OFF and the vehicle is not traveling at a speed exceeding 16 km/h.

  7. Door-Open/Close-Interlocked Auto Unlocking

    If the driver side door is opened within 10 seconds of the ignition switch being turned OFF, all the doors will be unlocked automatically.

    * When the battery terminal or fuse is disconnected for some reason, it is necessary to use the door lock control SW front LH (Driver's seat master SW) reset the door locks to their initial status according to the following procedure:

    1. Reconnect the battery terminal or fuse.
    2. With the back door closed, lock and then unlock the door lock control SW front LH (Driver seat master SW).
