Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK ILLUMINATION 
    1. Check if the illumination for the multi-display, radio receiver, navigation controller and other components (transmission control SW, hazard warning switch, cigarette lighter, etc.) comes on when the light control switch is turned to the HEAD or TAIL position.

      Result 

      RESULT CHART

      Condition Proceed to
      Illumination comes on for components except multi-display A
      Illumination comes on for components except navigation controller B
      No illumination comes on (multi-display, radio receiver, navigation controller, etc.) C

    B:  Go to step  4

    C:  Go to LIGHTING SYSTEM

    A: Go to Next Step 

  2. INSPECT MULTI-DISPLAY 
    1. Disconnect the multi-display connector E25.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      ILL+ - Body ground Light control SW HEAD or TAIL 10 to 14 V

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK: Go to Next Step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTI-DISPLAY - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the multi-display connector E25.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      GND1 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK : REPLACE MULTI-DISPLAY 

  4. INSPECT NAVIGATION CONTROLLER 
    1. Disconnect the navigation controller connector E18.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      ILL+ - Body ground Light control SW HEAD or TAIL 10 to 14 V

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK: Go to Next Step 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NAVIGATION CONTROLLER - COMBINATION METER) 
    1. Disconnect the combination meter connector E2.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      ILL- - ILL- Always Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK : REPLACE NAVIGATION CONTROLLER
