Parking Brake Lever: Installation

INSTALL PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSEMBLY
1. Install the parking brake switch assembly to the parking brake lever sub-assembly with the screw.
  Torque: 0.9 N*m (9 kgf*cm, 8 in.*lbf)

INSTALL NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY
1. Pass the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly through the parking brake lever sub-assembly.

2. Bend the parking brake lever claw.

3. Temporarily install the adjusting nut and the lock nut to the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.

INSTALL PARKING BRAKE CABLE END STOPPER
1. Install the parking brake cable end stopper to the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.

INSTALL PARKING BRAKE EQUALIZER
1. Engage the 2 claws to install the parking brake equalizer to the parking brake cable end stopper.

2. Engage the 2 claws to install the parking brake cable end stopper to the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.

INSTALL PARKING BRAKE LEVER ASSEMBLY
1. Install the parking brake lever assembly with the 2 bolts.
  Torque: 15 N*m (148 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf)

2. Connect the parking brake switch connector.

CONNECT PARKING BRAKE EQUALIZER
1. Connect the parking brake equalizer to the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly as shown in the illustration.
2. Connect the parking brake equalizer to the No. 2 parking brake cable assembly.
  HINT:
  
  Perform the same procedure as for the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.

INSTALL NO. 3 BELT ANCHOR REINFORCEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 2WD)
1. Install the No. 3 belt anchor reinforcement sub-assembly with the 5 bolts.
  Torque: 27 N*m (275 kgf*cm, 19 ft.*lbf)
2. Install the floor carpet.

INSTALL NO. 3 BELT ANCHOR REINFORCEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 4WD)
1. Install the No. 3 belt anchor reinforcement sub-assembly with the 5 bolts.
  Torque: 27 N*m (275 kgf*cm, 19 ft.*lbf)
2. Install the floor carpet.

INSTALL NO. 2 BELT ANCHOR REINFORCEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 2WD)
1. Install the No. 2 belt anchor reinforcement sub-assembly with the 4 bolts.
  Torque: 27 N*m (275 kgf*cm, 19 ft.*lbf)

INSTALL NO. 2 BELT ANCHOR REINFORCEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 4WD)
1. Install the No. 2 belt anchor reinforcement sub-assembly with the 4 bolts.
  Torque: 27 N*m (275 kgf*cm, 19 ft.*lbf)
ADJUST PARKING BRAKE LEVER TRAVEL (for Torsion Beam Type Suspension) (See ADJUSTMENT )
ADJUST PARKING BRAKE SHOE CLEARANCE AND PARKING BRAKE LEVER TRAVEL (for Double Wishbone Type Suspension) (See ADJUSTMENT )

INSTALL FRONT CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY
