Inspection Procedure
- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Cruise Control / Data List.
- Check the Data List for proper functioning of the cruise control main switch.
ECM (Cruise Control):

When cruise control switch operation is performed, the results will be same as above.
OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
NG: Go to next step
- INSPECT CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH
- Remove the cruise control main switch (See REMOVAL ).
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHARTTester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 1 - 3 Neutral 10 kΩ or higher Pushed to +RES 235 to 245 Ω Pushed to -SET 617 to 643 Ω Pushed to CANCEL 1509 to 1571 Ω Main switch pushed off 10 kΩ or higher Main switch pushed on Below 1 Ω NG: REPLACE CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH
OK: Go to next step
- INSPECT CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH WIRE
- Remove the cruise control switch wire.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHARTTester Connection Condition Specified Condition A-3 - 3 Always Below 1 Ω A-4 - 1 NG: REPLACE CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH WIRE

OK: Go to next step
- INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE NOTE: The spiral cable is an important part of the SRS airbag system. Incorrect removal or installation of the spiral cable may prevent the airbag from deploying. Be sure to refer to the "Refer to" in the brackets.
HINT:
- Removal (See REMOVAL )
- Installation (See INSTALLATION )
- Remove the spiral cable.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHARTTester Connection Spiral Cable Position Specified Condition A-3 (CCS) - 1 (CCS) Center Below 1 Ω 2.5 rotations to the left 2.5 rotations to the right A-4 (ECC) - 2 (ECC) Center Below 1 Ω 2.5 rotations to the left 2.5 rotations to the right HINT:
The spiral cable makes a maximum of approximately 5 rotations.
NG: REPLACE SPIRAL CABLE
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (SPIRAL CABLE - ECM AND BODY GROUND)
- Disconnect the E7 cable connector.
- Disconnect the A9 ECM connector.
- Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance
for 2GR-FE
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHARTTester Connection Specified Condition E7-1 (CCS) - A9-45 (CCS) Below 1 Ω E7-2 (ECC) - Body ground for 2AR-FE
