    1. Remove the cruise control main switch (See REMOVAL  ).
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 3 Neutral 10 kΩ or higher
      Pushed to +RES 235 to 245 Ω
      Pushed to -SET 617 to 643 Ω
      Pushed to CANCEL 1509 to 1571 Ω
Main switch pushed off 10 kΩ or higher
Main switch pushed on Below 1 Ω

NG: REPLACE CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH

      OK: Go to next step

  3. INSPECT CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH WIRE
    1. Remove the cruise control switch wire.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A-3 - 3 Always Below 1 Ω

      OK: Go to next step

  4. INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE
NOTE: The spiral cable is an important part of the SRS airbag system. Incorrect removal or installation of the spiral cable may prevent the airbag from deploying. Be sure to refer to the "Refer to" in the brackets.

    HINT:

    1. Remove the spiral cable.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

Tester Connection Spiral Cable Position Specified Condition
      A-3 (CCS) - 1 (CCS) Center Below 1 Ω
      2.5 rotations to the left
      2.5 rotations to the right
      A-4 (ECC) - 2 (ECC) Center Below 1 Ω
      2.5 rotations to the left
      2.5 rotations to the right

      HINT:

The spiral cable makes a maximum of approximately 5 rotations.

      NG: REPLACE SPIRAL CABLE

      OK: Go to next step

  5. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (SPIRAL CABLE - ECM AND BODY GROUND)
    1. Disconnect the E7 cable connector.
    2. Disconnect the A9 ECM connector.
