Automatic Running Board System: Initialization: Initialization
- INITIALIZE AUTOMATIC RUNNING BOARD SYSTEM NOTE:
When a side auto step controller ECU assembly is replaced, the side auto step controller ECU assembly must be initialized. Functions such as deploying/stowing and jam protection do not operate if the initialization is not performed.
HINT:
When the battery is replaced, it is not necessary to initialize the side auto step controller ECU assembly.
- Initialization procedure when replacing the side auto step ECU with a new one:
- Turn the side auto step switch assembly to OFF.
- Open either the front or rear door on the driver side or the front or rear door on the passenger side.
- Turn the side auto step switch assembly from AUTO to OFF 5 times in succession within 3 seconds.
- Turn the side auto step switch assembly to AUTO.
- Close either the front or rear door on the driver side or the front or rear door on the passenger side, and wait for 1.5 seconds or more.
- Open the closed doors, deploy the automatic running board and turn the side auto step switch assembly to OFF.
