Charge Cable: Inspection: Inspection

  1. ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGER CABLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Visual inspection
      1. Check if any foreign matter is attached to the connecting part of the electric vehicle charger cable assembly.

    2. Latch release button (PISW) inspection
      1. Check that the latch release button (PISW) can be pressed with no abnormal resistance.

    3. Check for short
      WARNING:

      Wear insulated gloves.

      1. Plug in the electric vehicle charger cable assembly to a 120 V outlet.

        HINT: 

        Make sure not to connect it to the vehicle side charging inlet.

      2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Voltage

        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        t1-5 (PISW) - t1-3 (GND) Latch release button (PISW) is pressed Below 1 V
        t1-5 (PISW) - t1-3 (GND) Latch release button (PISW) is not pressed Below 1 V

      3. Disconnect the electric vehicle charger cable assembly from the 120 V outlet.
    4. Check for open
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance

        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        t1-5 (PISW) - t1-3 (GND) Latch release button (PISW) is pressed 430 to 530 Ω
        t1-5 (PISW) - t1-3 (GND) Latch release button (PISW) is not pressed 135 to 165 Ω
