Operation Check

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2013 Toyota Land Cruiser. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. HID HEADLIGHT SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK
    1. Perform the following illumination diagnosis when both of the following conditions are met: 1) the headlight light control ECU is not visibly damaged, and 2) the headlight light control ECU has been struck but is operating normally. If all of the following diagnosis results are normal, the headlight light control ECU can be reused.
      1. Perform low beam headlight cold starts (10 minutes or more off, then turned on) and hot starts (15 minutes or more on, 1 minute off, then turned on again) several times. Check that the low beam headlights illuminate normally.
      2. For 5 minutes immediately after performing a headlight cold start as described above, visually check the illumination condition and check that the lights do not flicker or show signs of instability.
      3. Install bulbs that have approximately the same usage time, and illuminate the low beam headlights for approximately 30 seconds. Check that the brightness of the left and right bulbs is approximately the same, and that the illumination is stable.
  2. CHECK ILLUMINATED ENTRY SYSTEM OPERATION
    1. The illuminated entry system controls the following lights:
      • Engine switch illumination
      • Map light
      • Room light
    2. Check that the room light illuminates when approaching the vehicle while holding the transmitter.
    3. Check the illuminated entry system with the engine switch off.
      1. Check that the lights turn on when unlocking any of the doors that are closed and locked with the engine switch off. Then check that the lights fade out under the following conditions:
        • Leave the doors unlocked for 15 seconds.
        • Turn the engine switch on (ACC) or on (IG).
        • Lock all the doors.
      2. Check that the lights stay on for at least 15 seconds after opening any of the doors before fading out. Then check that the lights fade out 15 seconds after closing all the doors.
    4. Check the illuminated entry system with the engine switch on (ACC) or on (IG).
      1. Check that the lights stay lit after turning the engine switch off with all the doors closed and the engine switch on (ACC) or on (IG). Then check that the lights fade out under the following conditions:
        • Leave the doors unlocked for 15 seconds.
        • Turn the engine switch on (ACC) or on (IG).
        • Lock all the doors.
      2. Check that the lights stay on for at least 15 seconds after opening any of the doors. Then check that the lights fade out 15 seconds after closing all the doors.
      3. Check that the lights turn on when opening any of the doors and fade out when closing and locking all the doors or turning the engine switch on (ACC) or on (IG).
  3. CHECK BATTERY SAVER OPERATION
    1. Turn the engine switch off and close all the doors.
    2. Open the driver side door to turn the room light on, and leave the door open. Check that the light turns off after about 20 minutes.
    3. After the room light turns off, close the driver door.
    4. Open any door to turn the room light on, and then open another door. Check that the room light turns off within 20 minutes after opening the doors.
  4. CHECK LIGHT AUTO TURN OFF OPERATION
    1. Turn the engine switch on (IG), and turn the light control switch to tail or head.
    2. Turn the engine switch off and open the driver door. If the light control switch is tail, check that the taillight turns off immediately. If the light control switch is head, check that the headlight and taillight turn off after approximately 30 seconds.
    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG), and turn the light control switch to head.
    4. Turn the engine switch off and open the driver door. Within 30 seconds, lock all the doors. Check that the headlight and taillight turn off immediately.
  5. CHECK DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT OPERATION
    1. Check that the headlight turn on when the light control switch is off with the engine running and the parking brake released. Then check that the lights turn off under the following conditions:
      • Turn the light control switch to tail or head.
