Removal [06/2017 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE PRE-COLLISION CITY SENSOR 

    Refer to REMOVAL [11/2015 - ] 

  2. REMOVE PRE-COLLISION CITY HEATER WIRE 
    1. Disconnect the connector.
    2. Disengage the 5 clamps.

      HINT: 

      Disengage the clamps in the order shown in the illustration.

    3. Disconnect the 2 connectors to remove the pre-collision city heater wire.

  3. REMOVE PRE-COLLISION CITY HEATER 

    HINT: 

    • Perform this step only when replacement of the pre-collision city heater is necessary, because it is a non-reusable part.
    • If the pre-collision city heater has been removed, replace it with a new one.
    1. If the ambient temperature is lower than 15°C:
      1. Using a heat light, heat the pre-collision city heater and windshield glass surface.
        HEATING TEMPERATURE

        Item Temperature
        Pre-collision city heater 15 to 80°C (59 to 176°F)
        Windshield glass 15 to 80°C (59 to 176°F)
        WARNING:
        • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts, touching the heat light may result in burns.
        • Touching heated parts for a long time may result in burns.

        NOTE:

        Do not heat the pre-collision city heater or windshield glass excessively.

    2. Using a plier, and remove the pre-collision city heater as shown in the illustration.
