Registration [10/2024 - ]: Procedure

  1. CONFIRM CURRENT SETTING 
    1. On [Body Control] screen, select [Utility], and then select [Unit Customizing].

      Body Electrical > Body Control > Utility

    2. Save the setting.

  2. REGISTRATION MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) (FUNCTION SETTING) 
    NOTE:

    For the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU), function selection is available to control the entire vehicle systems. It is possible to control the original functions of vehicle when registrations of main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) and function setting are corresponded to vehicle equipment.

    If registrations and function setting are different from vehicle equipment, vehicle system does not operate normally and diagnosis cannot be performed correctly. Pay attention to following item.

    • Be sure to match registrations or customizing settings with vehicle equipment.
    • Do not change the settings of vehicle improperly.
    • Confirm [Factory initial setting] of main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) registrations is [Market]. (Confirm using the current data display of GTS.)
    1. On [Body Control] screen, select [Utility], and then select [Unit Customizing].

      HINT: 

      For the vehicle requiring the destination setting, if the destination setting is not finished, display cannot be shifted into customizing screen.

    2. Change the setting to the contents saved at confirmation of current setting.
      NOTE:
      • To perform normal operation of vehicle and diagnosis, above settings must match the actual vehicle equipment.
      • When the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) is new or in Factory mode, the map light illuminates, and user customizing is incomplete. Check the user customizing settings.
      • Be sure not to change Factory initial setting except when installing a new main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU).

      HINT: 

      "Factory" mode: 

      • Main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) has not been set yet. It can be recognized by map light and trunk room light blinking with ignition switch turned to ON.
      • All replacement main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU)s are set to "Factory" mode. When replacing a main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU), be sure to perform the registration operation.

      "Market" mode: 

      • Each settings have been set. It can be recognized by map light and trunk room light not blinking with ignition switch turned to ON.
    3. Perform the factory initial setting. Select [Factory initial setting] on [Customize] display of GTS.
    4. Change the mode from Factory to Market.
    5. Turn the ignition switch to OFF to settle the setting.
    6. Perform the customizing.

  3. DESTINATION SETTING 

    HINT: 

    For the vehicle requiring the destination setting, if the destination setting is not finished, display cannot be shifted into customizing screen.

    1. CONFIRM CURRENT SETTING
      1. Always perform confirmation of current setting before replacing the module.

        Record the contents of the "Destination Setting".

        HINT: 

        Refer to Read Data Monitor and Confirm Current Setting to confirm the current setting.

    2. CONFIRM DESTINATION SETTING
      1. On [Body Control] screen, select [Utility], and then select [Unit Customizing].

        Body Electrical > Body Control > Utility

      2. The vehicle destination screen is displayed.

        Is the vehicle destination setting screen displayed?

        Result Proceed to

    3. CONFIRM DESTINATION SETTING
      1. Confirm the screen displayed on GTS and the actual vehicle destination.

        Is the vehicle destination setting screen displayed?

        Result Proceed to
        Yes (Select Yes) Go to d
        No (Select No) Go to e
    4. ENTER DESTINATION CODE
      1. Enter the appropriate code in the screen.
        NOTE:

        Enter the value (destination setting) that was saved using "a. CONFIRM CURRENT SETTING" before the unit was replaced.

    5. REGISTER VEHICLE EQUIPMENT
      1. Customizing screen is displayed.

        HINT: 

        Match the each item setting of main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) registration item list with the vehicle equipment.

        Do all setting contents match with the vehicle equipment specification?

        Result Proceed to
        Yes Go to f
        No (Change the items until each content setting match with the vehicle equipment specification.) Go to f
    6. CONFIRM MARKET MODE
      1. On the customizing screen, select the "Factory initial setting" to change the setting from "Factory mode" to "Market mode".
      2. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.

        HINT: 

        When the setting is changed from "Factory" mode to "Market" mode, turning the ignition switch from ON → OFF confirms the setting.

      3. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and check the contents of settings.

        Is the mode changed to "Market" mode?

        No (Perform the destination setting from the first step.) Go to a
    7. CONFIRM MARKET MODE
      1. Check the following.

        Make sure that the "Destination Setting" in the data monitor is the same as the one you confirmed in step a.

        Is the display the same as indicated?

        Result Proceed to
        Yes (Registration of main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) is finished.) END
        No (It is possible that harness malfunction may occur. Perform the diagnosis.) END
