On-Vehicle Inspection [02/2024 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE CAM TIMING OIL CONTROL SOLENOID ASSEMBLY (for Intake Side) 

    Refer to REMOVAL [02/2024 - ] 

  2. INSPECT INTAKE CAMSHAFT TIMING GEAR BOLT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Check the stroke of the plunger in the center of the intake camshaft timing gear bolt assembly.

      Standard Stroke

      2.2 mm (0.0866 in.) or more

      *a Plunger
    2. If the result is not as specified, replace the intake camshaft timing gear bolt assembly.
  3. INSTALL CAM TIMING OIL CONTROL SOLENOID ASSEMBLY (for Intake Side) 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [02/2024 - ] 

  4. REMOVE CAM TIMING OIL CONTROL SOLENOID ASSEMBLY (for Exhaust Side) 

    Refer to REMOVAL [02/2024 - ] 

  5. INSPECT EXHAUST CAMSHAFT TIMING GEAR BOLT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Check the stroke of the plunger in the center of the exhaust camshaft timing gear bolt assembly.

      Standard Stroke

      2.2 mm (0.0866 in.) or more

      *a Plunger
    2. If the result is not as specified, replace the exhaust camshaft timing gear bolt assembly.
  6. INSTALL CAM TIMING OIL CONTROL SOLENOID ASSEMBLY (for Exhaust Side) 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [02/2024 - ]
