  1. INSPECT TIRE 

    Refer to INSPECTION [02/2024 - ]

  2. MEASURE VEHICLE HEIGHT 
    NOTE:
    • Be sure to perform measurement on a level surface.
    • Inspect while the vehicle is unloaded.
    • The standard value shown here is a value that is used for performing a wheel alignment and does not indicate the height of an actual vehicle.

    *A for Front Side *B for Rear Side
    1. Press down on the vehicle several times to stabilize the suspension, and then measure the vehicle height.

      Measuring points

      A: Ground clearance of the front adjusting cam bolt center

      B: Ground to rear control arm bolt center (Front Side)

      C: Ground to front wheel center

      D: Ground to rear wheel center

      HINT: 

      Check the specifications using the Wheel Alignment Table Specification Code List at the start of appropriate service information .

      If the vehicle height is not as specified, adjust the height by pressing down on the vehicle several times to stabilize the suspension.

  3. INSPECT CAMBER, CASTER AND STEERING AXIS INCLINATION 
    NOTE:

    Inspect while the vehicle is unloaded.

    1. Install the camber-caster-kingpin gauge or place the front wheels on the center of the wheel alignment tester.

    2. Inspect the camber, caster and steering axis inclination.

      HINT: 

      Check the specifications using the Wheel Alignment Table Specification Code List at the start of appropriate service information .

      If the camber and caster are not as specified, adjust them.

      If the steering axis inclination is not as specified after the camber and caster have been correctly adjusted, check the steering knuckle and front wheel for distortion or looseness.

  4. ADJUST CAMBER AND CASTER 
    NOTE:

    After the camber has been adjusted, inspect the toe-in.

    1. Remove the front bumper guard base cover.

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

    2. Remove the No. 1 engine under cover sub-assembly.

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

    3. Remove the No. 2 engine under cover assembly.

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

    4. Loosen the bolt and nut.
    5. Turn the front adjusting cam and rear adjusting cam in both directions, and adjust the camber and caster to the center value.

    6. Turn the adjusting cams to adjust the camber and caster.

      Read the adjustment chart (example).

      1. Find the wheel alignment standard value applicable for the particular model.
      2. Mark the selected standard value on the adjustment chart.

      3. Mark the alignment value measured when the vehicle is unloaded on the adjustment chart.

      4. As shown in the chart, read the distance from the marked point to 0, and adjust the front and/ or rear adjusting cams accordingly.

        HINT: 

        • The Front adjust cam to (+) by 1 notch changes the caster by +0°04' and camber by +0°07'.
        • The Rear adjust cam to (+) by 1 notch changes the caster by +0°04' and camber by +0°07'.
    8. Tighten the bolt and nut.

      Torque: 295 N.m (3008 kgf/cm, 218 ft.lbf) 

    9. Install the No. 2 engine under cover assembly.

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 47

    10. Install the No. 1 engine under cover sub-assembly.

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 48

    11. Install the front bumper guard base cover.

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 49

  5. INSPECT TOE-IN 
    NOTE:

    Inspect while the vehicle is unloaded.

    1. Bounce the vehicle up and down at the corners to stabilize the suspension, and then inspect the toe-in.

      HINT: 

      Check the specifications using the Wheel Alignment Table Specification Code List at the start of appropriate service information .

      If the toe-in is not as specified, adjust it at the rack ends.

  6. ADJUST TOE-IN 
    1. Remove the clip from the steering rack boot.
    2. Loosen the nut of the tie rod.

    3. Turn the right and left rack ends by an equal amount to adjust the toe-in to the center value.
    4. Check that the length of the right and left rack ends are approximately the same.

      Standard difference

      1.5 mm (0.059 in.) or less

    5. Hold the tie rod and tighten the nut.

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11

    6. Place the steering rack boots on the seats and install the steering rack boot clips.

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

    7. Check that the tie rod is at the ball joint movable range center.
  7. INSPECT WHEEL ANGLE 
    NOTE:

    Inspect while the vehicle is unloaded.

    1. Turn the steering wheel until it stops and measure the wheel angle.
