eMotor (FWD) Mount (Left Side) Removal And Installation/Replacement

Special Tools Required: 

Transmission Jack/Hydraulic Jack - no part number

  • Only authorised and appropriately trained persons may carry out work on high-voltage vehicles and components.
  • Perform High Voltage isolation procedure prior to commencing work.
  • Ensure appropriate Personal Protective Equipment is worn until the system is verified safe.
WARNING: Overhead Suspended Load and Falling Parts 
Failure to follow specified procedures may result in death or serious injury when elevated load or components are incorrectly secured/supported.
  • All lifting equipment weight rating must meet or exceed the weight of the vehicle and any contents.
  • The lifting equipment must be in good condition and approved for use.
  • Only lift the vehicle from the identified lift points.
  • Ensure vehicle is stable before performing any work underneath.
  • Ensure there are no loose components which may fall.
  • Always use personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Seek assistance when handling larger components.

Removal Procedure: 

  1. Remove power distribution unit (PDU) cradle. Refer to POWER DISTRIBUTION UNIT (PDU) CRADLE REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
  2. Remove eMotor (FWD) mount bracket (left side). Refer to EMOTOR (FWD) MOUNT BRACKET (LEFT SIDE) REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT

  3. Support the eMotor (FWD) (1) with a transmission jack or hydraulic jack using a rubber pad in the marked area (2) during the entire process.

  4. Remove 2 bolts (1).

    Torque: 8 Nm 

  5. Remove the bracket (2) from the eMotor mount.

  6. Remove bolt (1).

    Torque: 30 Nm 

  7. Remove bolt (2).

    Torque: 88 Nm

  8. Remove 2 bolts (1).

    Torque: 70 Nm 

  9. Guide out and remove the eMotor (FWD) mount (2) in arrow direction.

Installation Procedure: 

  1. Installation is the reverse of removal procedure, noting the following.

    All fasteners must be tightened to torque specification. 

  2. Install eMotor (FWD) mount bracket (left side). Refer to EMOTOR (FWD) MOUNT BRACKET (LEFT SIDE) REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT 
  3. Install power distribution unit (PDU) cradle. Refer to POWER DISTRIBUTION UNIT (PDU) CRADLE REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
