Component Disassembly & Reassembly: Governor: Disassembly
- Clean governor housing and cover to ensure no dirt enters transaxle assembly. Detach spring wire clip and remove governor cover with gasket. Withdraw governor with a clockwise twisting motion.
- Remove 2 mount screws and withdraw thrust plate and housing. Remove transfer plate, balance weight and oil strainer (if equipped). Remove "E" clips and withdraw centrifugal weight, valve, spring and dished washer from pin. See Fig 1
