Work sequence

• With engine at idle, connect Scan Tool (ST) V.A.G 1551 / V.A.G 1552 and select Engine Control Module (ECM) J248 with "Address word" 01. → Scan Tool V.A.G 1551 , connecting  , V.A.G 1551 Scan Tool, connecting.

Indicated on display:

Rapid data transfer HELP Select function XX

• Press buttons - 0  - and - 8  - for "Read measuring value block" and confirm with - Q  - button.

Indicated on display:

Read measuring value block HELP Input display group number XXX

• Press buttons - 0  - , - 1  - and - 7  - for "Display group number 17" and confirm with - Q  - button.

Indicated on display: (1...4 = Display zones)

Read measuring value block 17 -> 1 2 3 4

• Check readiness code in display zone 2

Specification: x000xxxx

• Check readiness code in display zone 4

Specification: 0xxxxxxx

If specification is obtained:

• Press → button.
• Press buttons - 0  - and - 6  - for "End output" and confirm with - Q  - button.
• Switch off ignition.

If specifications are not obtained:

• Press → button.
• Set readiness code → Readiness code, setting
