B1959 - Power Liftgate Drive Clutch Control Circuit High: Notes

For a complete wiring diagram, refer to appropriate Wiring Diagram

• >>When Monitored:<< Whenever the power liftgate is power opening or closing.
• >>Set Condition:<< The power liftgate module has detected the clutch driver circuit current is under 0.5 amps.

Possible Causes
Q201 LIFTGATE CLUTCH DRIVER CIRCUIT SHORT TO VOLTAGE
Q201 LIFTGATE CLUTCH DRIVER CIRCUIT OPEN
Z910 GROUND OPEN
POWER LIFTGATE DRIVE UNIT
POWER LIFTGATE MODULE

Test Step 1 - DTC PRESENT

• With the scan tool, record DTCs and any liftgate inhibitors.
• Erase DTCs.
• Turn the ignition OFF, wait 10 seconds, then turn the ignition ON.
• Operate the liftgate several times.
• With the scan tool, check for DTCs.

Does the scan tool display B1959- Power Liftgate Drive Clutch Control Circuit High?

Yes

• Go to Test Step 2 Test Step 2 - Liftgate Clutch Driver Circuit Short to Voltage 

No

• Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors for an intermittent condition.
• Perform the Body Verification Test. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
