ECO Tips
Eco tips are information for the driver regarding how to drive the vehicle economically. They appear in the multifunction display of the dash panel insert.
The diagnostic interface for Data-Bus monitors vehicle signals across the entire CAN-Bus network. Data Bus On Board Diagnostic Interface -J533- evaluates these signals for improvements to achieve a more economic driving style.
Text messages stored in the instrument cluster inform the driver of how to improve the current vehicle performance.
For example, when a certain speed is exceeded, the driver is alerted to close an open window or to turn off the air conditioning system when the window is open.
Examples of Eco Tips that appear in the multifunction display:
- Aerodynamic drag: Close window and sliding sunroof
- When braking, do not disengage clutch until below 1300 rpm
- Do not depress accelerator while starting engine
- Do not depress accelerator while stationary
- Follow gear change indicator
- Air conditioning system on: Close windows and sunroof
- Move selector lever to position "D"
- Avoid running the engine while stationary
