Deadlock Function

  1. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Connect scan tool to DLC. Use activation function to command door locks to deadlock (scan tool will display D. LOCK MOT). If all doors deadlock, fault has not been specified. If all doors do not deadlock, go to next step.
  2. Check VGLA connector for loose or corroded terminals. Repair as necessary. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Use activation function to command door locks to deadlock (scan tool will display D. LOCK MOT). If all doors deadlock, symptom has been repaired. If all doors do not deadlock, go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Remove door panel from suspect door. Check for poor connections or corroded terminals at Gray connector. Check for open in the following circuits. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
    • Between Violet/White wire at VGLA control module connector terminal A-2 and Violet wire at suspect driver's side (front or rear) central locking switch Gray connector terminal No. 4.
    • Violet/White wire between VGLA control module connector terminal A-2 and suspect passenger's side (front or rear) central locking switch Gray connector terminal No. 4.

      Repair as necessary. Go to next step.

  4. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Reconnect all disconnected components. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Use activation function to command door locks to deadlock (scan tool will display D. LOCK MOT). If all doors deadlock, symptom has been repaired. If all doors do not deadlock, fault is still present.
