Battery Disconnect Precautions & Relearn Procedures: Notes
CAUTION:
Always disconnect the battery negative lead. DO NOT disconnect positive lead in engine compartment.
WARNING:
The key must be in position No. 2. No one must be in vehicle when battery is connected. This is a safety precaution in case an airbag module activates when power is connected.
All vehicles are equipped with an anti-theft stereo system that requires a code to activate. Record stereo code BEFORE disconnecting negative battery cable. After cable is reconnected, enter code into stereo and reset clock.
