Power Seat Inoperative
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect connector "A" from power seat control module. Connect DVOM between connector "A" terminal No. 1 (Green/Red wire) and ground. If battery voltage is indicated, go to next step. If battery voltage is not indicated, go to step 3 .
- Voltage supply to seat is okay at this time. Check for intermittent short, open or poor connection at control module. If circuits are okay, test power seat switch. See POWER SEAT SWITCH under COMPONENT TESTS.
- Remove power seat fuses, 11/39 for the left seat and 11/40 for the right seat, located in fuse box. If fuse is okay, go to next step. If fuse is blown, go to step 8 .
- Use DVOM to measure voltage between blown power seat fuse socket and ground. If battery voltage is indicated, go to next step. If battery voltage is not indicated, go to step 9 .
- Use DVOM to measure resistance between connector "A" terminal No. 1 (Green/Red wire) and blown power seat fuse socket. If zero ohms resistance is indicated, go to next step. If any resistance other than zero is indicated, go to step 10 .
- Use DVOM to measure resistance between connector "A" terminal No. 3 (Black wire) and ground. If zero ohms resistance is indicated, go to next step. If any resistance is indicated, go to step 11 .
- Replace power seat control module. See SEAT CONTROL MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to step 1 .
- Replace blown fuse. After repairs, go to step 1 .
- Check for open in battery voltage supply circuit to appropriate power seat fuse. After repairs, go to step 1 .
- Check for open in Green/Red wire between power seat control module and suspect fuse terminal in fuse box. If wire is okay, check for poor connections or corroded terminals at power seat control module. Repair as necessary. After repairs, go to step 1 .
- Check for open in Black wire between power seat control module and ground. After repairs, go to step 1 .
